The Google Earth application provides methods for superimposing new buildings and infrastructure onto a simple terrain view. 

 

The images shown below simulate how the twenty-five wind turbines proposed for the Bryncadwgan project would appear, and the huge negative impact the project would have on the visual amenity of the upper Towy valley. The wind turbine locations are taken from the Galileo pre-proposal documents found on the PEDW website. 

By way of example, several different Google ‘street view’ images have been taken around the upper Towy Valley.  The current street view is shown on the left, with a simulation of the same view displaying the wind turbine’s visual impact shown on the right.  In most cases, the visual impact will be far greater than shown in the simulation, as the wind turbines will have to be fitted with flashing aircraft warning lights, as shown below.
